PsycINFO Database: How to use it

Information about searching PsycINFO with links to guides and tutorials.

Finding the Full Text from a Result

To access the full text of a chosen article from the results list, click on the linked title. This will pull up the Detailed Record of that title.

The Detailed Record will usually include a few "Access options" for viewing the full article text. If there is a PDF available, there will be a "Download" button option as well.

There will also be the option to Save, Cite, add to Project, Share, and Download in the top right-hand corner of the record. Some of these options, like adding a record to a Project, are only available for users with a MyEBSCO account. See the Creating An Account page of this guide for instructions on how to set up a MyEBSCO account.

Interlibrary Loan

If there is no link to the full text of a record in PsycINFO and Stetson does not own a work in any other database, you can still submit an Interlibrary Loan request. To do this, start by clicking the "Access options" drop down menu and selecting "Find full text." This link should take you to the Stetson catalog record for the work.

In the catalog record (below), there will be a button that says "Request Item through Interlibrary Loan." Clicking this will take you to the duPont-Ball Library's ILL Request Form.

Fill out the ILL form to the best of your ability and submit it. Some information may automatically populate in the form; double-check that this pre-filled information is correct. There is no charge for interlibrary loans, and there is no limit on the number of requests you can submit.

NOTE: You should allow two weeks to receive material through our Interlibrary Loan system.
