Combining Searches

After retrieving results from several search queries, you have the ability to combine them by going to the "Recent Activity" tab on the left-hand side of the home page.

Select which searches you'd like to combine by checking the boxes to the left of each entry. When you've selected more than one entry, a button with converging arrows will appear next to where it states how many search entries are in your recent activity. Clicking these converging arrows will open a drop down menu asking which Boolean operator you'd like to separate each search term. Choose AND, OR, or NOT and the search bar will populate.

Note: Any keywords not cleared from the search box will automatically be added to your combined search using "AND." Additionally, any filters applied to the original source are not retained in the combined search. The creation of Search alerts is not available for combined searches.

To learn more about how to save and edit combined searches, see this EBSCOhost Guide.
