cHatter Box Help Guide

Learn how to use all the features of the cHatter Box, a soundproof recording studio equipped with microphones, cameras, and livestreaming capabilities

Welcome to the cHatter Box!

The cHatter Box is a new and exciting creative space in the library that gives the students, faculty, archivists, and community members a location to create audio recordings, streaming video podcasts, radio plays, oral histories, and more. Housed in a bright orange, soundproofed Quietcube at the back of the library’s main floor, the cHatter Box is a reservable space that contains audio and video equipment.

The library was awarded a NEFLIN Innovation Grant for the interior technology, which includes video cameras, microphones, software and more. (If you are looking for a more low-tech option, the library also has a ring light and other equipment for checkout that can be used with your phone.) The cHatter Box is set up for small groups of 2-4 people or the space can be used by individuals.

We encourage reservations for the cHatter Box. To reserve the cHatter Box in 2-hour increments, please visit this link
