Several databases have notification options for citations, new search results, and more. Each database varies in alert frequency (how often they notify you) and the types of alerts they offer.
Database alerts are generally less punctual than publisher or ToC alert services. Publishers will issue alerts whenever a new journal issue or article is published, whereas many databases only update their contents monthly or quarterly. Each database differs in the kinds of alerts they offer their users. Creating an account with the database is usually required in order to utilize alert services.
The most popular databases with alert services are listed below. This is not a comprehensive list; if you're unsure whether or not a particular database provides the option to sign up for alerts and notifications, feel free to reach out to a duPont-Ball Librarian.
See our Search Alerts LibGuide for how-to instructions on setting up database search notifications.
