Journal Rankings, Citation Counts, ResearcherID, H-index and Altmetrics

A brief guide to the basics of bibliometrics. Topics include: citation counts, journal rankings, journal metrics and altmetrics

Citation Counts

The number of times a scholarly document is cited by other researchers is the basic tool of citation analysis. A source document's citation count can be found by searching the library databases relevant to the field of study. The library databases listed below enable cited references searches.

Tracking citations to a published work can be accomplished in these library databases, however, the citation counts will be limited to the journals indexed in the database.
