Finding Books

Books can be secondary sources or primary sources, or may contain both. OneSearch is the best place to begin your search for books at the duPont-Ball Library and beyond.

Library of Congress Classification System
Find call numbers that may be useful for your research topic.
Library of Congress Online Catalog- Browse
Find subject heading using the "subjects containing" and "subjects beginning with" filters.
Google Books
Scanned sections of books. Useful for deciding if you want to request a book through interlibrary loan, or starting to read while you're waiting for an interlibrary loan to arrive.

Find Scholarly Articles

JSTOR
An archive of scholarly journals. Content spans many disciplines, primarily in the humanities and social sciences. The most recent 3-5 years of journals are generally not available. JSTOR has a number of other collections to which we do not subscribe. Provided through a cooperative agreement with Stetson's College of Law Library.
Academic Search Complete (EBSCOhost)
A broad, general full-text database that includes both popular and scholarly periodicals. It covers virtually all academic areas of study, including social sciences, sciences, and humanities.
ProQuest Research Library
A multidisciplinary database with full-text articles in the arts, business, health, medicine, history, science, technology, social sciences. Includes scholarly articles, professional publication, and magazines.
Google Scholar
Google Scholar searches academic publishers, professional societies, and pre-print archives. Remember to go to Settings --> Library Links and add Stetson University to sync search results with our holdings.
