In the Spring of 2020, I presented library instruction to students in most of the SOBA 205 classes who then participated in a study on perceptions, self-assessments, and use of library instruction and resources.
As Persky, Lee, and Schlesselman (2020) contend, "The most appropriate use of perception [of learning] data would be in assessing student metacognition or self-efficacy."
However, "perceptions of academic self-concept formed at an early stage significantly predict expected performance" (Garger, Thomas, & Jacques, 2010, p. 135).
Measuring and assessing student perception of learning is critical.
I collected 241 survey responses in two sets of surveys. Here are their responses.
