Tablet checkout, policies, and basic information to get the most out of your time with your tablet.

iPad Circulation Policies

Two iPads

 Available for checkout at the duPont-Ball library: 

  • 2 iPad Pros (Gen 1)
  • 2 iPads (Gen 5)
  • 7 iPads Pros (Gen 2) 

All iPad Pros have a corresponding Apple Pencil available for checkout.

Each iPad circulates for 7 days and may be renewed once.

You can choose to apply your personal iTunes account to the iPad at check-in to allow for additional applications to be downloaded onto the device.  You can also elect the library iTunes account with a list of predownloaded applications. If you choose this option, you will not be able to download any additional apps during your check out period.

iPad Kits include the tablet, charging adapter and cable (lightning or USB-C as needed) and neoprene protective case.  All items must be returned with kit at check-in; or arrangements made to pay for their replacement.

Apple Pencil

Apple Pencil

The Apple Pencil is a unique pressure-sensitive stylus that works with the iPad Pro for note-taking, drawing, and other detail-orientated tasks.

  Apple Pencil Generation1 is compatible with iPad Pro Gen 1 (iPad Pro 1-2)

This device is rounded, with a removable/replaceable tip and a removeable cap that covers the charging port.

  Apple Pencil Generation2 is compatible with the iPad Pro Gen 2 (iPad Pro 3-9)

This device has one flat side, replaceable tip but no charging port. This pencil using inductive charging when connected to iPad Pro magnetically.

Features of Apple Pencil 

  • Hand Placement -  when paired with Apple Pencil, only the pencil tip will be recognized allowing for comfortable hand positioning. 
  • Pressure Sensitivity - advanced pressure sensitivity allows for darker or lighter lines by adjusting downward force.
  • Tilt Sensitivity - tilting Apple pencil will adjust marking similar to shading.
  • Pencil-Like Weighting - designed with real pencil feel and weight for comfortable use.
  • Low Latency - no delay between tip and response.
  • Precision - pixel accuracy ensures clear and distinct lines
  • Simple Pairing - no bluetooth or wifi needed.
  • Touch Gestures (Generation 2 only) - double tapping allows switching of apps / pencil tips

Personal Responsibilty

When checking out circulating equipment (laptops, tablets, cameras, audio recorders, etc.) you assume all responsibility for it. If the item is lost, damaged, or stolen, then you will be required to pay for a replacement. All fees will be billed to your library account.
