Guide with useful information for students enrolled in a First Year Seminar course

Where should I start my search?

Before you can find a source for your assignment, you'll need to decide where you are going to look. The duPont-Ball Library subscribes to over 250 research databases. Each database has a unique collection of information, often with a specific type of content or subject area, with many focused on scholarly information. Most of the content in the databases are only available through the library. There is no charge for current students, faculty, and staff to use these resources - they are purchased on your behalf. Browse our list to select the best one for your needs. If you're not sure, OneSearch is a good starting point.

Search Tips

Sometimes we run into trouble when researching online. One search query yields more results than we could ever begin to sift through, while another might return zero. It's all in the way you search. Check out the tips and tricks below to get the best results when researching.
