What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?

Interlibrary Loan or ILL is a process for requesting books and articles that the duPont-Ball library does not have, but another institution does. The duPont-Ball library borrows the item in question from a different library on your behalf!

There’s no cost to you for ILL items. However, if you damage or lose an item, the library will pass along charges from the owning library to you.

How do I make an ILL request?

When you are searching for information if the PDF or a link to the full text is not there, click Find Full Text.

The Find Full Text button searches our library for the full text. If we don’t have access, You’ll see a screen with an “unable to find direct link to full text.” In that case, click Request Item through Interlibrary Loan.

The item information from the previous page is already completed on the form. Fill in the highlighted sections with Need Before date, your name, and your contact information and click Submit.

The library will confirm receipt of your request and contact you when the item is available.
