Located in the basement of the Library near the north courtyard entrance, the department is responsible for the following:
Acquisitions — deciding what books, periodicals, and videos the library needs and buying them
Cataloging — organizing materials in the library so that you can find them
Electronic Resources — Managing electronic resources available through the library’s catalog
Periodicals — managing the electronic, paper, and microform journals
Summary of FY22 in the Department
Highlights from FY22
The library spent $825,955 on library resources in FY22. 96% of the total was spent on electronic resources.
The print periodicals collection was streamlined and consolidated into one location on the ground floor of the library.
The library worked with two undergraduate interns in the spring semester - Emery McClenny and Connor Darby. Connor continued with a focused internship in the summer semester.
The library added the following databases in FY22: Digital Theatre Plus; MRI/Simmons Insights; RILM (index only); OverDrive (ebook and audiobook interface).
Librarians finished a clean-up project from the 2017 migration from the Sirsi ILS to the WMS ILS.
