Occupational Outlook Handbook and CareerOneStop: How to use it

The Occupational Outlook Handbook offers information for job seekers navigating today's economy. Created by the U.S. Department of Labor, the OOH provides information on what workers do; the work environment; education, training, and other qualifications; pay; the job outlook; similar occupations; and sources of additional information. In fact, many library databases and resources utilize the information from the Occupational Outlook Handbook.

When you have decided upon a particular job, there is a variety of information to explore. Using the job of physical therapist as an example, notice the information available to aid your job search. 

The tabs at the top of each job/ career offer a wealth of information for your search. These tabs include information on what workers in those professions do, the work environment, how to become one, salary and pay, the profession's outlook, information in specific regions of the country, similar jobs, as well as professional and trade organizations for the career.
