Audio in the Library

Physical items in Library: The Library has a collection of approximately 7,000 commercial compact discs and more than 3500 LPs (vinyl), all of which may be checked out. The  Circulation Desk has external drives you may check out for two hours.  LPs must be checked out of the library.  Locations:  commercial cd collection (call numbers begin with 'CDISC') are housed behind the Circulation Desk.  Ask for them by call number. LPs:  in stacks on first floor, near the scores; call numbers begin with REC followed by a number.  They are shelved in the stacks in numerical order.

General audio searching

From the OneSearch box, choose the 'Music' icon, enter keyword 'salsa', and select 'Stetson' from the drop-down menu on the right.  Then click the search icon.


Note the filters on the left, which show the types of material retrieved in this general search.  Note that 'music' is broken down into 'eMusic' (streaming), 'Music CD', and 'Music LP'.


Video sources

From the OneSearch box, click on the 'Video' icon, enter the keyword 'salsa', and select 'Stetson' from the dropdown menu on the right.  Then click the search icon.


Note the formats under 'Video' are 'eVideo' for streaming and 'DVD video' for the Library's DVDs (note call number for these).


For DVDs, note circulation status, location and call number.
