BEBR at the University of Florida performs the following functions:

  • Collects, analyzes and generates economic and demographic data on Florida and its local areas;

  • Conducts economic and demographic research that will inform public policy and business decision making;

  • Distributes data and research findings throughout the state and the nation.

BEBR publishes the following:

BEBR also produces Florida’s official state and local population estimates and projections. These estimates and projections are used for distributing state revenue-sharing dollars to cities and counties in Florida and for budgeting, planning and policy analysis by state and local government agencies, businesses, researchers, the media, and members of the general public.
