MLA Bibliography Database: How to use it

The Modern Language Association (MLA) International Bibliography database is an index to journal articles, books, and more, published on languages, literatures, folklore, film, and linguistics.

Creating an account

Members of the Stetson community may create an EBSCO account [free] to access additional features of MLA International Bibliography and other EBSCO databases. Click on MyEBSCO in the top right-hand corner of the page, then Sign in to MyEbsco. The user name and password you create will be common across all EBSCO databases.

This account allows you to save preferences, organize your research with folders, share them with others, save and retrieve your search history, and create email alerts or RSS feeds when new results are indexed that match your search terms.

Adding Items to Your Folder and Alerts

After you have clicked on the title of an item in the Result List to see the full record of that item, if you want to mark that record so that you can save or email it. To save the record, create a project folder.

To see what is in your project's folder, click on the projects icon on the left. You can add and delete records in your projects folder.

WARNING: Your folder will not be saved after closing the browser window UNLESS you create a (free) account and sign in.

The MLA database allows searchers to create alerts to receive automatic e-mail notifications when a new issue of a particular journal becomes available in the EBSCO interface.

Note: To create an alert, you must log into EBSCO using your mystetson credentials.
