The Library provides interlibrary loan services to all currently enrolled students, as well as faculty and staff.
We utilize WorldCat, a worldwide shared catalog database to determine the location of the books you request.
Our communication with other libraries is handled electronically through WorldCat.
The time required for us to obtain a book for you depends on to which library we make the request. For books requested from Florida libraries, we expect to receive the item within two weeks and sometimes earlier.
You will receive an email from the Library when the requested book is ready for you to pick up.
In general, there is no cost for you to use our interlibrary loan service.
Once you've located a useful book in WorldCat and you wish to borrow the book from another library, click on the blue-underlined title of the book in your retrieval list. Scroll down and click on the box labeled "Request Item." You'll then be given an online form to complete, in which the information for the book is already input by WorldCat. The Stetson Library relies on the WorldCat database not only for our cataloging records but also for our interlibrary loan service.
Quite often when you are searching WorldCat to locate a book you will see that there are several editions listed for a book with the same title.
In order to request on interlibrary loan the edition of the book you're interested in, you'll need to take a look at the descriptions of the various editions available.
